CDE Lecture 7- Dr. Mohammed Taib Presents on Connective Tissue Graft “Advances and Modifications”
Sulaimani, Kurdistan Region – The Department of Dentistry at Komar University of Science and Technology (KUST) continued its Continuing Dental Enrichment Programme with a seminar on November 23, 2025, delivered by Dr. Mohammed Taib. Held in the E-Auditorium at 12:30 PM, the lecture, titled “Connective Tissue Graft: Advances and Modifications,” provided an in-depth exploration of modern techniques in periodontal soft-tissue reconstruction. Dr. Taib highlighted the newest developments in connective tissue grafting, emphasizing their clinical relevance for achieving predictable and esthetic outcomes in gingival recession coverage.
The presentation compared classical and contemporary graft-harvesting methods, with particular focus on the de-epithelialization approach, presented as a simplified and time-efficient alternative to traditional trapdoor, single-incision, and double-incision techniques. Dr. Taib also reviewed evolving strategies for recipient-site preparation, ranging from established methods to innovative minimally invasive procedures. Through detailed before-and-after images and video demonstrations, attendees gained practical insight into how these advancements enhance surgical precision, reduce patient morbidity, and improve clinical success in periodontal soft-tissue management.
