CDE Lecture 3- Dr. Shanaz Gaphor, Chairperson of Department of Dentistry Explores Complex Oral Lesions

Sulaimani, Kurdistan Region – Komar University of Science and Technology (KUST) College of Dentistry successfully hosted another highly informative session of its Continuing Dental Enrichment Programme on October 19, 2025. Held in the E-Auditorium, the seminar featured Dr. Shanaz Mohammed Ghafour, Chairperson of Department of Dentistry at KUST, presenting on the challenging topic of “Clinical Cases of Vesiculo-bullous Ulcerative Lesions.” The session focused on oral mucosal disorders characterized by pain, mucosal breakdown, and blister formation, which arise from diverse etiologies including autoimmune, infectious, and inflammatory conditions.

Dr. Ghafour’s presentation used a selection of detailed clinical cases to illustrate the essential clinical features, diagnostic criteria, and effective management strategies for these complex diseases. This practical, case-based approach was invaluable for attendees, reinforcing the necessity of accurate diagnosis for successful treatment in this area of dentistry.
